We are very proud to introduce the first edition of The Taddler, a newsletter for all our patient and staff. It will come out 4 times a year, and will include all sorts of information for you, regarding health issues and happenings here at Taddle Creek Family  Health Team. You can always download a copy of it from the first page of our website. A hard copy can be picked up from any office. Feel free to let us know what you think!

We would like to welcome Lauren Cripps, Registered Nurse, here at Taddle Creek Family Health Team. She will be here temporarily while another nurse is away on leave. She has 2 years of experience working at The Hospital for Sick Children and as Research Officer/Lab Instructor at U of T. Lauren has her Bachelor of Science, Nursing from the University of Toronto and is working towards her Masters of Nursing.

Congradulations to the Taddle Creek Family Health Team for winning the Family Practice of the Year Award for 2011! On behalf of the Ontario College of Family Physicians, this award is given for our team members' commitment and dedication to excellence in family practice. Keep up the amazing work!!

We are happy to welcome Andrew McKenzie, U of T MSW student here at Taddle Creek Family Health Team. He will be starting in September, and work as a part of the Mental Health Team each week from Wednesday to Friday until next April.

Taddle Creek Family Health Team welcomes 2 new psychiatry residents, Dr. Chloe Leon, and Dr. Yousef Papadopoulos. They will be with us until June 2011.

"Rise Up!"

There is a new program being introduced for the patients at Taddle Creek. It is a self- care workshop for peope who are suffering from depression. You will learn and be encouraged to make small but effective changes in how you think about and handle your life. For more information, visit the Mental Health Program, Education page.

Taddle Creek Family Health Team hosted a visit from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Honourable Deb Matthews, on Nov. 2, 2010. Minister Matthews announced that 5 million Ontarians are now receiving the benefits of electronic medical records. The benefits of electronic medical records are many, especially enhancing communication amongst healthcare professionals, facilitating medication management and access to patient information at point of care.

A Master of Social Work student from the University of Toronto, Julia Kundakci, will be joining the Mentla Health Team here at Taddle Creek beginning Sept. 23, 2010. She is a 2nd year student and will be with us Wednesday-Friday until Apr. 15, 2011. She will be working from the IHP office in suite 306. Please join me in welcoming Julia to the team!

The College of Family Physicians of Canada's Research and Education Foundation has selected Dr. Pauline Pariser as their family physician recipient of the Mimi Divinsky Award for History & Narrative in Family Medicine for her story entitled "Throw Me a Lifeline". Please join us in congratulating Dr. Pariser on this achievement!

Taddle Creek Family Health Team welcomes 2 new psychiatry residents, Dr. Monica Choi and Dr. Nemer Al Mosyab. They will be with us until December of this year.
